In turbulent times, which bring many risks but also great opportunities for companies in Europe, the economy needs one thing more than ever: legal certainty across borders. Disrupted supply chains, material shortages, shortages of skilled workers, completely new questions of security of supply and sometimes violent turbulence on the global markets make very fast decisions of great importance in many companies, which must also be legally well secured. Anyone who is advised against this background by a law firm that can fall back on a Europe-wide network of business lawyers with different country competences and specialist areas is clearly at an advantage. This is exactly the lead offered by the European member firms of “Advoselect”, which met in mid-May for their spring meeting in Hanover.

“Europe is moving even closer together and we, as a European lawyer network, are intensifying cooperation between law firms across national borders,” says Viktoria Maruschka, Chief Executive Officer of Advoselect Service. AG. “In addition to the close professional exchange on current developments in legislation and jurisprudence, this also includes the expansion of the digital infrastructure of the network in order to be able to react even faster to current challenges in the future.” Among other things, it was decided to set up a modern app system that will enable fast, digital communication between law firms across Europe and their clients in the future. New webinar offers for European entrepreneurs were also launched. The focus is on liability issues for managing directors and shareholders in other European countries and the drafting of commercial agent contracts in Europe. The dates will soon be published on the Advoselect blog under www.advoselect.com announced.

The legal topics that shaped the Advoselect Spring Conference included current case law at the Federal Labour Court, current developments in company law and digitalisation in the legal market from the point of view of the judiciary and law firms. Top-class speakers such as Malte Creutzfeldt, judge at the Federal Labour Court, Prof. Dr. Jan Lieder, LL.M. (Harvard), Director of the Department of Economic Law of the Institute for Economic Law, Labour and Social Law of the Albert Ludwigs University Freiburg, and Stefanie Otte, President of OLG Celle, could be won for it. The latest developments in insolvency law, building law and international arbitration and procedural law were discussed in the specialist committees. A further focus was the company valuation in sales and sales. Succession process with a practical report by Lena Rethorn (Justus & Cie. succession consultancy).

The fact that the Advoselect network is still on course for growth is also reflected in the fact that a new law firm has once again been welcomed. “With Zwicky & Partner from Zug, Advoselect will also be represented in Switzerland in the future,” said Chief Executive Viktoria Maruschka. “There are also already other requests from interested law firms, for example from Sweden.” The three-day spring meeting was rounded off by a new edition of the “Advoselect Golf Tournament”. The next Advoselect meeting will take place on a regular basis in autumn – then Lisbon will be the venue.
