Especially in times of crisis, entrepreneurs often have to make quick decisions that must be legally well-secured. This challenge is all the greater the more international the company is, because many special features of business law in the different countries must be taken into account. The Advoselect member firms can support their clients in a special way because they can draw on a broad European network of experts in business law in the background. The even more intensive networking of the law firms was among other things the focus of the Advoselect Autumn Conference, which took place this time at the member law firm PLMJ Advogados in Lisbon.
“In view of the current developments, an optimal international network has once again gained in importance for leading commercial law firms and their clients,” says Viktoria Maruschka, Managing Director of Advoselect Service. AG. “More than ever, speed is important, because there is great momentum in many European countries on important issues of business law.” In order to best meet the new challenges, the network Advoselect presented a new app at the autumn conference in Lisbon and officially put it into operation. “The app developed especially for Advoselect will enable law firms and their professionals to network even more closely throughout Europe, to work together on current topics and to further intensify the professional exchange on current legislation and latest judgments.” Clients can also use the new Advoselect app for free: Current news, an extensive knowledge repository, all member law firms with their special competences at a glance, documents for download, recordings of webinars, podcasts about business law and much more offers the new digital offer for entrepreneurs in Europe.
At the autumn conference in Portugal, other new services were also launched, which Advoselect will soon offer. This includes an overview of real estate acquisition issues in the different countries of Europe. “As part of the ‘Business in Europe’ series, the Working Group on Construction and Real Estate Law at Advoselect intends to develop a corresponding guide in the coming months, which will help entrepreneurs to acquire real estate in other European countries,” says Viktoria Maruschka. In the other specialist committees, current judgments and questions concerning legislation in the areas of company law, labour law, insolvency law and international arbitration and procedural law were discussed. In the latter committee, this time the focus was on arbitration with a sanctioned party, especially with regard to Russia.
This time, the multi-day event was hosted by PLMJ Avogados in Lisbon, which also offered a varied program to accompany the conference – including a special tuk-tuk ride through Old Lisbon. The leading Portuguese commercial law firm PLMJ, with more than 50 partners, more than 150 professionals and 400 employees in seven countries, is the largest member law firm of the Advoselect network.
